Course Outline:
- Course One: Foundation of Human Anatomy and Physiology (275 hours): This course, taught two eight-hour day a week. The other hours are homework and logged massage hours. The student classroom hours provide fundamental knowledge of anatomy. A computer is required for this course.
- Course Two: Core Touch Techniques: Exploring the Fundamental Aspects of Touch (125 hours): This immersive program offers three core courses:
• Massage 101 (50 hours) – Weeks 12-13
• Fascia Therapies (50 hours) – Weeks 14-15
• Palpation of Anatomy (25 hours) – Week 16
Held over three weeks in the scenic Arkansas Valley of Buena Vista, Colorado, this hands-on training provides a comprehensive blend of theory and practice. Students engage in 7-hour daily sessions, gaining both foundational knowledge and practical experience in massage techniques.
- Course Three: Light Touch Principles (50 hours)
In this course students will learn what light touch is, and how its beneficial. The students learn a light hand routine by placing hands on and above the body. The techniques offered in this course will include breathwork, meditation, movement, shiatsu, acupressure points, sound therapy, Reiki, polarity therapy, and hypnotherapy.
- Course Four: Applied Therapeutic Massage Techniques and SOAP Note Documentation (100 hours)
This course builds upon what the students have already been taught with a strong emphasis on applying appropriate therapeutic massage techniques, understanding contraindications for chronic conditions, and an in-depth exploration of the meaning of preventive healthcare. Additionally, the course provides focused training on massage applications for athletes, enhancing and supporting both pre- and post-event performance and recovery.
- Course Five: Clinical Practicum (100 hours) Student Check-ins, Individual Reviews (100 hours): Gain practical experience through clinic work, receive personalized feedback, and engage in student check-ins to track progress.
- Weekly Commitment: Students are asked to dedicate 25 hours per week to the program, including classroom hours, assignments, and independent study.
